Rent The News: News Your Way

Like all dedicated writers, I started this by researching. I started to dig backwards and soon got tired because sixty years holds a lot of crap to try and sift through. A lot of stuff has happened in sixty years. I think the twist came and went about 59 times as a fad. Man landed on the moon and played around for a few years. The ballpoint pen was invented in that time frame, as well as eight track tapes. Twelve U.S. Presidents have sat at the White House, and the Pet Rock gave millions of people years of loving devotion.

After a while, I decided to cheat and go to Wikipedia to see what I could find about May 7th, 1949. Do you know what happened on that day? Nadda. Nuttin’ Zilch. I was aghast.
Apparently history thinks it took the day off.

Well, all that has changed. I don’t know if I changed the present and future history in some bizarre fashion, but I changed the recordings of history. If you look at the birthday list for 1949 at Wikipedia, you will find my Birthday Gift to chefkeem.

I first met Chef Keem when he introduced himself on one of my lenses and said he was going to feature it on his lens. I thought, “That’s nice, but who is this guy?”

Well, it didn’t take long to figure out that this newcomer was in for the long haul. His lenses reflect his personality: He’s personable, smart, funny, and incredibly giving.

We’ve emailed personally a few times, connected online – all along, sharing personal and ‘work’ interets. I admire him and am grateful that he took the time to introduce himself on my lens.

What else can I say? He’s a unique man, with a heart of gold. I feel blessed to know him.
